An Interesting Perspective

I bumped into the following article about the internet and books:  The Internet Ruined Literature.  The argument is that the internet has NOT ruined reading.  Only 25% of the public was reading post WWII.  The reason our "memory" of a literate society exists is hypothesized that only that 25% had a media voice.  Interesting.  Today--any idiot can participate--this blog is proof.
Perhaps things are not as bad as we want to over-dramatize.  Then again--it IS job security for me (a teacher!).
