A Christmas Story?

In an effort to expose junior high school students to a variety of literature, I announced before Thanksgiving break that we'd be completing a novel in three weeks.  The remaining three class days would be spent reading the play A Christmas Story. 

Immediately, half of the class lit up.  They were excited!  I was reaching them!  I was expanding their horizons and they were responding!  Oh . . . what? . . . Ooooops!  I misspoke.  We will be reading A Christmas Carol and NOT A Christmas Story.  No Red Rider bb guns in this play.
 

I just received this mug from a friend.  I thought I appropriate in light of my class faux pas.
