Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

I just finished Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry this week . . . for the second time.  I only remember reading parts of it the first time . . . and I cannot place WHEN I did read it.  I remembered the bus.  I remembered the fire.  I don't remember much else.  Strange.

I am facilitating a junior high after-school book club; we are discussing the book today.  I am anxious to learn what the students thought of the book.  I know a couple had started it and stated they "really couldn't get into it yet."  Glad they added the "yet."  I told them to continue on at least another chapter or two because it took me three chapters or so myself before I enjoyed the book.  After the "bus incident" the story picks up speed.
